JOB TITLE:  Production Planner Analyst               

EMPLOYEE STATUS:  Non-Exempt, hourly 

PURPOSE:  This position is responsible for the planning process within the medical manufacturing and converting operations as it relates to the analytical system of the inventory management system (IBS).                                      

AREA:  The primary area of responsibility is within the medical manufacturing and converting department.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Plans and prepares production schedules for Converting and Manufacturing areas. Draws up    master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.
  • Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements.
  • Work cooperatively with ASW Manager and Production and Converting Managers to trouble shoot issues in production planning to maintain production schedules.
  • Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
  • Maintain active and open communication with buyer / planner to coordinate and schedule raw materials for production.
  • Become knowledgeable with all specifications of the products within the Medical Production Department.
  • Work cooperatively with warehouse operations for coordinating and scheduling of raw materials.
  • Must be familiar with FDA and ISO standards as it relates to HVO's quality system.
  • Must be aware of applicable HVO safety rules and regulations
  • Perform non-routine tasks as requested by immediate supervisor.
  • Plan and prioritize customer orders
  • Work in ERP system to create and release orders based on schedules.
  • Serve as a resource and work jointly with Production, Purchasing, Shipping, Quality and Customer Service departments in the coordination of raw material ordering, production scheduling and finished good shipping.
  • Complete status reports and data analysis to review and evaluate production progress, work in process, and raw material inventory and finished goods demand.
  • Interact with production management on a daily basis to resolve issues regarding manufacturing efficiencies or to provide additional information as requested from Management.
  • Confer with department supervisors to determine progress of work and completion dates; inventory levels, and solving production problems.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities
  • Make suggestions for improvement in areas of cost reduction, processes, quality and productivity.
  • Develop and achieve departmental/company goals and controls 

 

GENERAL DUTIES:

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with maintenance department for maximum efficiency.
  • Be willing to attend recommended training as requested.
  • Demonstrate willingness and ability to accept work assignments in other work areas.

 

MINIMAL REQUIREMENTS/PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:

  • Five years production experience or knowledge of production techniques and ability to work with persons with disabilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field OR equivalent experience and evidence of exceptional ability.
  • Understanding of ERP system and Microsoft Office products; strong computer skills.
  • Minimum of 2 years previous planning experience
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet strict deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, including good customer service/phone skills and flexibility for handling a wide range of activities.
  • Must possess the ability to perform basic computer functions and willingness to learn new applications as it relates to inventory management system.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  able to lift up to 20 lbs.

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:  BS/BA degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience
