JOB TITLE:       Electronic Technician


EMPLOYEE STATUS:  Non-Exempt, hourly


PURPOSE:  The Electronic Technician is responsible for repairs to a variety of complex electrical/electronic equipment, including the ability to read and interpret blueprints to trouble shoot PLC's.





1)                   Perform maintenance and set-up on equipment that is operated by computer controls and mechanical devices.

2)                   Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair PLC's that control mechanical devices.

3)                   Maintain appropriate level of process controls, switch boards, or other equipment to maximize uptime of production equipment.

4)                   Inspect, advise, perform and/or schedule repairs on equipment and facility.

5)                   Perform setup on equipment as requested in order to assist production personnel.

6)                   Assist and perform preventive maintenance in accordance with schedule for all facility equipment.

7)                   Construct precise jigs and fixtures as requested for the production area.

8)                   Ability to train operators on proper methods of operating equipment, including assessment and recommendation of releasing operator to perform production on electronic equipment.

9)                   Perform non-routine tasks as required by immediate supervisor

10)               Maintain and trouble shoot security system, video surveillance, and door systems.



1)                   Must be aware and comply with HVO safety rules and regulations.

2)                   Adhere to HVO lockout/tagout procedures.



1)                  Ability to maintain a valid North Carolina driver's license and be approved by HVO's insurance carrier.

2)                  Minimum of two years related experience in computer controlled machinery and/or industrial maintenance.

3)                  Ability to relate with and respect persons with disabilities.

4)                  Must have demonstrated mechanical aptitude along with working knowledge and ability in welding and cutting.

5)                  Willingness to participate in in-service training in order to meet the requirements of the position.



1)                   Able to lift 75 pounds on occasional basis.



1)                   Diploma from an accredited technical school in electronic maintenance or equivalent years of work experience in related field.


Schedule: Friday - Sunday; 6:00am - 6:30pm
